ASBESTOS Abatement & Removal
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber once referred to as the “miracle fiber” that was added to a wide variety of consumer products, industrial equipment and building materials from the 1920’s even up until the early 1980’s. The addition of this fiber provided heat insulation, fire resistance and strength.
Among some of its more common uses were:
- Building insulation
- Ceiling and floor tiles
- Paints and plasters
- Roofing shingles and siding
- Cement additive
- Automotive brake linings and clutch pads
- Wrappings for shipboard boilers and steam lines
By law, you are required to test materials that will be affected during remodeling or demolition prior to the work being started.
